A secret oasis

On Friday, we took a trip to the restored 'festival gardens' in south Liverpool and wow what a perfect way to end an impromptu afternoon with Big D. Originally the centre piece of an early regeneration project of Liverpool way back in 1984, the international garden festival attracted more than 3 million visitors but was left derelict in 1997….up until last year when it's doors opened once more- and it's taken us this long to visit!

^^^yikes, just looking at those steps made my thighs burn^^^

The gardens were so peaceful and beautifully kept, we can't wait to pack a picnic and return!
