Ralph, I can't believe you are six months old already. You are my little bundle of fun and I never knew I could love somebody as much as I love you. You are growing and changing every single day and I want to remember every little thing that you do.
You wake up super early between 5:30 and 6:30 am and after you've had a morning feed papa takes you downstairs to play so I can have a little more sleep as you still wake up 2 or 3 times during the night.
Two hours later and you are ready for a morning nap, I hold you and I sing twinkle star until your little eyes start to get sleepy and then I lay you on your side or tum in your cot rubbing your back until you sleep. You normally wake up after an hour and a half and make coo noises until I come to get you. You kick your little legs and smile and giggle when you see me.
After you've been nursed you have some breakfast. You've only been eating foods for a couple of weeks and so far you've tried banana (you love), pear, plum, peach, mango, avacado, peas, parsnip, carrots, quinoa porridge and sweet potato. From day one of weaning you've had a super apatite and you have three little meals a day as well as breast milk. We are following the montessori method, and you have your own little silver weaning spoon which you like to hold and pop in your mouth as you enjoy your meal times.
We spend our day playing and exploring. You are currently trying to crawl but it normally ends up with you rolling over and over again. You can nearly sit up unaided but you much prefer to be stood up (aided of course!) When we are out and about you are so observant and love to watch everything going on around you. You are more than happy to sacrifice your nap to take your surroundings in, so more often than not our day is planned around your afternoon nap time which is between 11:30am/ 1pm.
Bath time signals wind down time for bed and is so much fun. You splash the water with your legs kicking and squealing and you are not phased when water is splashed over your face but there are often tears when it's time to get out! I nurse you for the last time around 6:30pm, before you drift off to slumberland…
All your first hair has fallen out except for a little tuft on the top of your head which reminds me of tweety pie! We love to cuddle and you smell so delicious, it's so hard to describe, its simply perfect. You've started to blow bubbles and raspberries and you giggle so much when you see your reflection in the mirror.
I can't wait to see what the next six months have in store.
